How can you empower kids?

Give them power tools! Sound crazy? At Tinkering School, their philosophy is that kids are a lot more capable than they believe themselves to be. Using real tools to solve real problems, kids have come up with some spectacular projects – from roller coasters to hang-gliders to huge abstract art pieces. The bigger, the better!

Sometimes the projects are also spectacular failures – but that is part of the Tinkering School philosophy too. To have the freedom to grow, they believe that it’s also essential that kids have the freedom to fail.

Check out this TED Talk on the Tinkering School’s philosophy of building child resilience and empowerment.

Don’t miss the roller coaster built by 7-year-olds!
